Advent Journal: Day 3

Blessed are the eyes that see what you see

God blesses our vision–our subjective understanding is not wholly corrupt, our feeling are not completely unreliable as a guide to life.  Christ speaks metaphorically of the senses, but it is clear he means we are allowed, given the capacity to perceive what others have not–his glory, the coming of Christ, fullness of truth and grace.  But also our small share in His glory, if we are faithful.  We are blessed, because we have that opportunity, for now we have that hope which is in the only Son of God. Our flesh, our mind’s eye, have been restored to the path of salvation by God Almighty Himself.  Let us go to Him, and return to Him with joy: for there can be no greater gift to Him than to turn from our sins, and to return from our tears to dancing because of Him.
